My motto in life is “Smile…it makes people wonder what you’re up to!” What makes me smile? Birds, waterfalls, mountains, wildlife, and all the beauty that we find when we step outside.
The more I see, the more I smile. I hope you allow me to share my “smile” with you!

For me, the words of John Muir paint a picture that elicits adventure and intrigue at the thought of exploring the Great Outdoors, knowing that with every step, the ground beneath my feet and the flora around me would always be changing.
As a child, I remember climbing trees, playing in corn fields, rolling down hills of green grass, and catching fireflies on warm summer nights. I remember having a love affair with any animal that crossed my path from dogs and cats to bunny rabbits, deer, and birds. I was captivated by wildlife and the fascinating world in which they lived. As an adult, that passion still lives inside of me.
Instead of rolling down hills or running through corn fields, my adult adventures now consist of hiking back trails through forests, river beds, marsh lands, and mountains…in hopes of capturing a pink Spoonbill Roseate preening its feather, a moose or elk relaxing in the sun, or a young hawk learning to fly. I also enjoy chasing the perfect sunset or sunrise or an approaching thunderstorm. I am captivated by the grand vistas of the Wild West, from the vast open plains to the high reaching mountain ranges.
What better way to capture the sights around me than to see the world through another set of eyes, my camera…the local lens. TheLocalLenz.com is not just another photography website focused on getting someone to visit to my site to buy a picture. TheLocalLenz.com is about sharing the world around me with others. It’s about my community and yours, whether that is Florida, Tennessee, Colorado, or Utah.
From childhood follies to adult adventures, my love of the outdoors has only grown with time. As I travel across our beautiful country, I hope to share the sights with you through TheLocalLenz.com. I hope you will be just as inspired as I am in the beauty that lies in front of you.

Behind the Lens
My Name is Lisa Bachota
I am a native Floridian over the age of 50, which is quite a rare thing since most Floridians are transplants from other states. I am a mother of 3 beautiful adult kids and the wife of 1 amazing husband. We are extremely active and adventurous family that enjoys hiking, boating, fishing and hunting, cycling, rock climbing, snow skiing and snowboarding, and almost all sports. Being an active family, we take at least 2 family trips per year that involves one of the aforementioned activities. Needless to say, we have a lot of fun as a family and this fun has afforded me the opportunity to take some great pictures.
